The spindle, bearings, and carbon brushes of micro motors all require lubrication, given their operating conditions of high speed, low temperature, low noise, and low starting torque. High-speed spindle grease tends to be flung out under high-speed operation and can easily degrade at elevated temperatures; oil-impregnated bearing lubricants, meanwhile, must be continuously replenished to compensate for consumption. Filt motor spindle greases, by contrast, offer a broad operating temperature range, along with excellent thermal oxidation stability, reduced operating noise, and low volatility.
